Hair 13, Photography by Lindsay Adler

As a viewer, when I look at the Hair 13 picture captured by Lindsay Alder, I feel like the model is covering up because you can’t see her whole face, but the side of her you see if she’s very powerful as her head points slightly forward to the camera and I also think the glare she gives the camera is very serious for me as the Studio Lightning / Lighting System shows that the lights are very powerful.

Practitioner 2: George Hurrell, he was an American photographer, best known for his portraits of Hollywood movie stars in the 1930s and 1940s. His images are dramatic with hard, contrasty lighting and glamourous at the same time.

He got his start in Hollywood as the official photographer for MGM in 1930.
Carole Lombard

As a spectator, I feel like the model is covering up half of her face when I look at the Carole Lombard captured by George Hurrell, because you can’t see her true model identity and also the side of her you can see is very fascinating as the bright light that focuses on the model face makes her quite strong woman as I think the glare she offers to the camera is very serious as the Studio Lighting provides the picture with a very unique effect.

Task B “This Is Me” Experiment…

I’m from a big household, so I started to think about everybody’s schedules for some opinions, so one of the suggestions is about the medicine my dad has to get every eight weeks because of his illness. My mom is also another idea that I can do an audio on, but as it changes every day, her daily life is completely different. Then there is an understanding of my younger siblings’ regular lives at home or in high school or in sixth form.

I’m going to do an audio on myself as I dealt with fluid on the brain (Hydrocephalus) when I was born, I had an operation when I was just ten months old which was the shunt that was built. This is why, instead of using the daily rituals of my family, I will use myself as I feel more committed to the story.

I’m also going to use the five self-portraits that I have taken. The audio voice will be of a Google Translate female speaker. Since I don’t have faith in using my own voice.

“THIS IS ME”

Task C “This Is Me” (Extended)

I’m going to use ten photos of me when I was a kid to illustrate how I was affected by Hydrocephalus, so I’m going to use archive pictures of me that were taken by members of my family. “The audio for my video is going to be my mom talking because my mom has always been by my side, so I feel like having my mom talk throughout the video will give the video a greater impact on the video and audio of “This Is Me.

I’m going to use myself again for the “This is her / Him / Them / Me” audio that’s going to be about (Hydrocephalus), because when I was born, I was born dead with the brain fluid Hydrocephalus. When I was just ten months old, I still had to undergo surgery, where they had to fit the shunt that was designed to help minimise the fluid on the brain. This is why I would concentrate on myself instead of using other people, so my audio will be called “This Is Me”…

“This Is Me”

What I like about my completed project is how all the photos in which I chose all the relation as with the audio in the previous one I generated didn’t work out as well because the audio I used was too robotic as the audio voice wasn’t a natural speaker, so it didn’t give the listener/audience that effective impact. Throughout the whole film, this time around the audio is more powerful as the pictures, audio all interact very well and even the voice is more involved in the story compared to a robotic voice overlaid over the top of the video, so I’ve succeeded for me. Music is also something I think can be improved on the audio as I haven’t really looked at the music aspect because I didn’t want the music to overwhelm the audio as I just thought it wasn’t right for me to put in because I wanted the audience to be more interested in speaking than playing the music over the top of the audio.
