Task 1: Was to pick a book out at random and try finding the Reflections of Line, Tone, Light, Texture in the Images of the random book selected. I have selected a Black and White book out called “Glass House” by Margaret Morton.
Here’s the images I’ve selected from the book which have caught my eyes, I find all these images really interesting because of the way the natural light is coming in from the outside and bouncing on the human surface and which is making the the frame of the picture very interesting to the viewer.
Task 2:
Task 2: Was to capture a wide selection of reflections within a certain mount of time set, which the time is only 15 minutes to capture a wide selection of reflective images. (In / Out of the Class Room)
The aim for these images was to capture Mirror and Reflected surfaces and also to capture Shadows, Light, Tones and Textures. Which they are on flat surfaces, the first image I’ve captures was taken head on with the glass cabinet facing me so for the I photographed myself in the reflected surface. The last image I’ve captured was Reflected light the windows blinds from the right side of the frame, for this image I’ve positioned myself in a lot lower position as I didn’t want to be included in the image as I felt i just wanted to focus on the light source from the background.
Task 3:
Task 3: Was to capture (Self Portraits) using mirrors, reflections of shiny surfaces. For example Walls, doors, tables Cabinets, computers etc. For this task I am going to photograph Portraits of myself and photographs of my personal belongings.
During the self portrait task, I found the size and scale of the objects very hard as throughout the contact sheet the items were not the same size. The feedback I got was very positive as I was guided more on the positioning of the objects. The images wasn’t as good as I thought only because there was too much space in the background, so I had to Re – capture the items again but this time I had to put the items closer to the camera, so I can capture the same size and scale of the Wallet, Vaseline and Keys.
Reflective Surface…
A reflective surface functions like a light-reflecting mirror, but if the image’s light source comes from the same direction as the camera, it produces specular highlights that result in spots blown out without texture, and an overall poor-looking image like the one below photographed with the camera mounted flash.
Out At Night In Liverpool…
Here are a few photos of the Christmas lights in Liverpool, some of the lights are reflected onto other surfaces, such as glass, water, and wet floor.
My purpose of the shoot was to capture reflections at night as I wanted to see how the darkness around the Albert Docks, Liverpool City Centre, would respond to the colours of Christmas lights. I wish I could have explored the use of aperture in the images, as the focus point would be more powerful with the colours.
PH1020 Assignment 1: Mirror and Reflection; Aftershave Shoot…
My aim of the photoshoot was to capture the use of light in which I use my phone flash, as well as to capture a wide range of angles of aftershave. I have wanted to focus on the reflections in which the light on the floor of the desk is reflected.
